History of Block Panchayat
Parassala Block Panchayat, located in the southernmost district of India, stretching from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, has an area of 82.2 square kilometers and a population of 170,644. It is a land area comprising 6 gram panchayats: Chengal, Karode, Kulathur, Parassala, Poovar, and Thirupuram.The boundaries of Parassala Block Panchayat are bounded by Perumkadavila Block to the north, Tamil Nadu to the south, Tamil Nadu and Perumkadavila Block to the east, and the Arabian Sea, Athiyannur Block and Neyyattinkara Municipality to the west.
